I loooooovvee summer! Plop me by the water, and I am one happy girl. Maybe it’s from growing up in Florida just a mile from the beach, or maybe it’s living in California where summer feels like a state of mind. But either way, I count down the days until I can live in my swimsuit. Long, golden days. Bare feet. Salty skin. Late dinners and warm nights. Summer is a whole mood, and I am here for it.
So whether you're poolside, beach-bound, or just soaking up some sunshine in your own backyard, I hope you discover a new brand or products that brings a little extra joy to your summer… and reminds you that conscious shopping can be both impactful and stylish.

Day at the Beach
For her, I pulled together a few swimsuit options, plus some easy cover-ups to toss on after a swim. Don’t forget a roomy bag for all the beach-day essentials. I found a cute swimsuit option for the guys, but admittedly do need more inspiration in this area. (Please share your favorite Black-led swim suit brands to me in the comments!) I’ve also included two great gender-neutral hats to protect that gorgeous skin of yours!
Night On the Town… Beach Style
If you're like me, you want to keep the beachy vibes going long after the sun sets. So I pulled together some summer-forward pieces for both women and men that are worth a spot in your cart.
For women, I love LemLem. (Read more about this brand here.) It’s just that good for summer. McMullen Boutique in San Francisco is another go-to of mine; the owner’s curation is always spot-on (though it leans luxe and more pricey). I recently treated myself to a Petit Kouraj bag (under $200) and am counting down the days until it arrives. I love how the designer weaves her Haitian heritage into every piece. And sunglasses? Total summer essential.
For the guys, I found some tropical shirts that bring just the right amount of flair. I’m especially excited for the Buyaso shirts I ordered for my three guys. They’re on the way now! I recently discovered the brand AWET, and I’m so curious to hear what you think if you try it. And can the men ever have enough slides… my sons say no.
Always Come Prepared
Whether it’s a day at the beach or by the pool, you’ve got to come prepared! Sunscreen, snacks, beach blankets, and towels… check! I also added a nourishing hair treatment, because our locks need a little extra love with the sun and saltwater. And don’t miss out the adorable swimsuits for the pre-teen in your life!
