Love & Pride
A call to action, a show of support, and a curated list of LGBTQ+ owned brands you can uplift right now.
June is Pride Month - a time to celebrate, uplift, and stand with the LGBTQ+ community. Held every June to mark the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, Pride is both a joyful celebration of identity and a vital call to action. (You can learn more about the Stonewall Uprising here.) Pride Month is about visibility, love, and the right to be seen and valued for who you truly are.
But this year, Pride hits differently.
Just this month, the U.S. government cut federal funding for The Trevor Project, the nation’s leading suicide prevention hotline serving LGBTQ+ youth. At the same time, the Supreme Court upheld Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming care for minors - paving the way for similar laws in 20 other states.
These back-to-back decisions impact real people… sons, daughters, siblings, friends. Young people who already carry heavy burdens of discrimination, rejection, and mental health struggles are now even more vulnerable.
So this Pride Month, I’m taking action - and inviting you to join me.

Here's what I'm doing:
I’m highlighting LGBTQ+ owned brands you can support with your dollars. Every purchase is a small way to say: I see you, I support you, and I’m with you. Please check out the Fashion, Home and Beauty companies featured at the end of this post!
I’m donating to The Trevor Project—because every young person in crisis deserves compassionate, specialized care.
And here’s where you come in:
For every new paid subscriber who joins me through this post, I will donate $100 to The Trevor Project. My goal is to welcome 50 new paid subscribers.
Why this goal? Substack is more likely to amplify writers who reach a certain threshold of paid support - and I’d love for this space to reach more people. To be clear, I’m not here to make money. I’m here to help build the kind of world I want for myself, my kids, and for you and your loved ones too.
I believe deeply in what we’re creating together: a space to shop with intention, have real conversations about race and privilege, and uplift the diverse voices and stories that deserve to be seen and heard. So, in full transparency, I need more paid subscribers to unlock that extra boost from Substack.
If we reach this goal, that’s $5,000 to The Trevor Project - funds that will go directly to supporting LGBTQ+ youth in crisis. And it means this space will reach more people through Substack’s platform. Please share with friends who care about building a more just, compassionate world - just like we do.
Can we make that happen? I think we can. Let’s show up with our love, our dollars, and our voices.
With love and pride,
Katie
